ArborBrook 2009 Croft Vineyards Pinot Gris

My first visit to Arborbrook Vineyard I must admit was to try their Pinot Noir. As the Willamete Valley is known for Pinot Noir, I am always looking for what I believe are really great tasting Pinot’s, to bring to my site for those who can’t come to Oregon to find them. So…when I had my first taste of this Pinot Gris, I found myself fully absorbed in the flavor and fruit of this great Pinot Gris.
I found this Pinot Gris to be refreshing, crisp and fruity, with tones of grapefruit and a tantalizing invitation to pursue again. This wine is the perfect example of why I started this website and business, to bring exceptional wines to you that you probably would never bring to your lips. Wines that would be hidden among the many “average” examples of Pinot Gris. This wine is far above the “average”.
The Wine Enthusiast is quoted as saying “Bright and sicy, this is Pinot Gris with a bit of grassy bite of a Loire Valley Sauvignon Blanc. Racy and loaded with grapefruit and pineapple flavors, this lingers lazily through a refreshing, acid-driven finish that invites further sipping.
An exquisite Pinot Gris, slowly barrel-fermented in French oak to produce a full and captivating wine. Crafted exclusively from grapes grown in the renowned Guadalupe Vineyard located in the Dundee Hills, the distinguished terrain of this site produce consistently beautiful fruit.
Gentle hints of apricot, citrus, vanilla and other tropical fruits combine to create a wine that is wonderful with crab cakes, Thai cuisine, and other spicy dishes.
