The David Hill Winery sit’s atop the hill named for it’s firse owner, Frederick Hill, and Oregon Pioneer for the 1800′s. The house that holds the present tasting room, was built in 1883. There are photo’s from 1904, depicting the property planted in grape vines, but in later years, they were replaced with potatoe plants. In 1965 the land was again planted in grape vines, of which some 6 acres are old Pinot Noir vines from then, with an additional 2 acres in Riesling, along with some Gewurztraminer, Pinot Blanc and Semillon.
David Hill Winery is the home of the Willamette Valley’s oldest Pinot Noir Vines.
